#22 Again

I'm going to Manchester again next week. I look back to when I was on my way last December. I had written a list on my other blog describing all of the things I was looking forward to at the time. It's funny to me that most of them were food items, having never been to Manchester before. I succeeded in  experiencing most of my culinary desires.

This time my list has changed and interestingly enough, stayed the same.

I'm looking forward to:

1. A full English Breakfast. I don't want to admit this, but I'm not particularly fond of English Breakfast. I like my eggs poached (not fried in oil) and my ham baked (not fried in oil). But it's a staple of the country and to be respectful I must put it on the list.

2. Curry. British curry certainly beats the overpriced curries we have in Canada. They are full of flavour, full of meat (not just 3 pieces of butter chicken) and when you order it spicy, it's the right amount of spice.

3. A pie. This should have been first on my list. Having had an English pie for the first time in my life only a few months ago, I've been craving one ever since.

4. McDonald's coffee. Or any coffee for that matter. In Italy, drip coffee doesn't exist. However, it doesn't exist in Manchester either. They are used to powdered coffee, the kind that we Canadians use for camping. Someone get me a cup of coffee!

5. Beer. The beer in England is the best in the world. Enough said. I can't wait to sit in a pub on a hot day with a nice cold pint of beer.
